Three Events: Community Session for Schools - Vigil for the American Jobs Act - Dems Meeting


Hello Members and Friends of the Winnebago County Democratic Party!

There are three events this week you may be interested in:

Monday: Candlelight vigil in support of the American Jobs Act

On the eve of a vote on the American Jobs Act, join thousands of people across the country as they
gather at bridges to tell Congress to stop fighting and start putting people to work immediately.
Americans are uniting in their support for the AJA’s straightforward approach to fast job creation:
rebuilding our roads, bridges, and schools to put people back to work right away.
6:30 pm - Monday, October 10 - College Avenue bridge – east end near the Banta Bowl

Tuesday: Join State Superintendent Tony Evers, educators, parents and others for a community listening session to discuss the important topic of school quality and accountability.

When: Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Carl Traeger Middle School Cafetorium
3000 W. 20th Avenue, Oshkosh WI

Who: Parents, PTA/PTO Members, Grandparents, Interested Community Members, Teachers, Support Professionals, Staff, Administrators & School Board members - (Everyone is welcome!)

We’ll talk about topics, such as:

-          Community/Parent Involvement in Schools
-          Student Progress
-          Teaching Quality
-          How Programs and Resources are Distributed and Used in Our School Systems

The Oshkosh public forum is one of seven sessions being held in communities across the state this fall. State Superintendent Tony Evers will be on hand to talk informally with you and answer your questions. These forums are casual, and everyone will have the opportunity to speak out about our public schools. We hope you will take time to attend – because it’s important to add your voice to the discussion about how we Move Education Forward in Wisconsin.
