Also, this Saturday July 30th Tammy Baldwin and Jess King will be joining us for a rally at 12 pm called "Field the Heat" followed by some door knocking and phone banking.  Please let me know if you can make it down.  Please give us a call at 920 664 2417.

Winnebago Co. Dems: Elect a new chair

Winnebago Co. Dems: Elect a new chair
7/14/2011

Contact: Travis Swanson
608-792-6662

Oshkosh, Wisconsin – Winnebago County’s 13th District County Supervisor Travis Swanson was elected chair of the Winnebago County Democratic Party at tonight’s membership meeting in Oshkosh by a unanimous vote. Swanson will be completing the term of Sara Stichert who is stepping down. Stichert will remain involved as the party’s communication director.

“It is quite an honor to be chosen for this position by my fellow members of the party, especially at such a crucial time in our state’s history,” said Swanson. “My top priority is ensuring that we get Jessica King elected to the 18th district senate seat on August 9th”.

“Travis has been a great asset to our County party and I am very excited he will be taking the reins,” said Stichert. “Travis brings experience, energy and talent to the table and will be an excellent leader for our County Party.”

Swanson is a 2010 graduate of UW-Oshkosh where he served in student government, as well as chair of the UW-Oshkosh College Democrats, and was elected the Winnebago County Board of Supervisor in April 2010 where he currently serves as the secretary of the Parks & Recreation committee and on the board of directors for ADVOCAP. Travis was born and raised in La Crosse and has been residing in Winnebago County since 2005.

WisDems: PAY BACK WISCONSIN

WisDems: PAY BACK WISCONSIN

Scott Walker and Republican Party of Wisconsin Must Reimburse Local Communities for Cost of Fake Dems
MADISON - The Democratic Party of Wisconsin on Wednesday called on Scott Walker's Republican Party to pay back Wisconsin taxpayers for the fraud of running fake Democrats in the historic recall elections.

All six actual Democrats cruised to victory over their sham opponents. Reports have put the cost of these sham primaries at more than $400,000 (http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/123791244.html).

"The Republicans have brazenly lied to Wisconsin and they must repay the taxpayers for their fraud," said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate.  "For a party that pretends to care about the tax burden of working families, they are sure willing to spend their money to finance pure political gain. Scott Walker's GOP is sitting on mountains of corporate cash - they should put their money where their mouth is and repay Wisconsin for their outrageous conspiracy."

From Jess King's Campaign - Please vote tomorrow (July 12th!)

Members and Friends of the Winnebago County Democratic Party & Working Families Across Wisconsin!

Tomorrow is the day we need your vote in the 18th Senate District.  Please read Jess King’s message below.  We cannot let the GOP dirty tricks continue to highjack WI.

King - State Senate
Dear Friend,
Tomorrow is our primary election. This is the same election where the GOP party bosses have stooped to using a dishonest and deceitful tactic - running a known Republican pretending to be a Democrat.

Randy Hopper and his special interest friends are running scared. They know that Wisconsinites won't stand for their extreme anti-family, anti-middle class agenda anymore. That's why are they are using this dirty trick to confuse voters and delay democracy.

Now we are hearing that the GOP and its allies are actually encouraging Republicans to vote for these fake Democrats in a cynical attempt to steal these elections and silence our voices.

We can't let the GOP bosses get away with their dirty tricks. It is crucial that you get out to the polls tomorrow and cast your vote for Jessica King. Click here to find your polling place.

Together, we will stand up to Randy Hooper, Scott Walker, and their special interest friends - and put Wisconsin back on the side of working middle-class families.
Sincerely,

Jess King

P.S. Even though they are running a fake Democrat, this is still a real election. Click here to find your polling place.
